School Visits

Kath is available to visit schools and clubs to inspire children to read and write more.

Kath can discuss her writing process, where she gets her inspiration from and why she enjoys being a writer.

Kath can set up a competition, for the children to write a story and the stories will be included in a physical book, which will be made available to purchase on Amazon.

Kath is an avid reader. The first adult novel she read at the age of eleven, was Flowers in the Attic, by V C Andrews. The book inspired her so much, that she went on to read everything else, V C Andrews had written. She aspired to be a writer, that her readers would want to read everything by her.

Inspiration

The idea for Mum Runners came from Kath, training to run the London Marathon herself. She had never run long distance before, she had not long given birth to her son and thought it would be a great idea; having time on her hands, due to being on maternity leave. The training didn’t go to plan, she got an injury and had to pull out of the London Marathon so the idea for Mum Runners was born. When she wrote Mum Runners.

Story ideas come from everywhere, using those ideas into a story is great practice for writing skills.

Testimonial

Our pupils were fascinated to hear from a ‘real life’ author! Kath kept all our pupils enthralled with her talk, which covered topics such as how to write a story, the key components of a story and using a random word generator. She was bombarded with questions which were dealt with extremely patiently. An excellent virtual session!
